The Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance is located on the 11th floor of the Paramount Building at 1501 Broadway at 43rd Street, NYC.

Erected 1926 as the headquarters of Paramount Pictures, the landmark Art Deco + Beaux-Arts building is located at the epicenter of bustling Times Square, granting convenient access to world-class theater, entertainment, restaurant, hospitality and retail destinations.

Take the N Q R W, 1 2 3, or  7 to Times Square, or the A C E to Port Authority.

By Car

Merge onto NY-9A S via exit 1 toward Downtown. Turn slight left onto W 50TH ST. Turn right onto Broadway. End at 1501 Broadway.

Merge onto Cross Bronx Expy / I-95 S / US-1 S via Exit 7 toward Geo Washington Br / Trenton. Take the RT-9A / H Hudson Pkwy exit- EXIT 1- toward W 181 ST. Merge onto NY-9A S via the exit on the left toward Downtown. Turn slight left onto W 50TH ST. Turn right onto Broadway. End at 1501 Broadway.

Take the exit on the LEFT toward I-495 E / 42 ST / RT-9A / All Points. Stay straight to go onto Dyer Ave. Turn right onto W 42ND ST. Turn left onto 8TH Ave. Turn right onto W 44TH ST. Turn right onto Broadway / 7TH Ave. End at 1501 Broadway.

Follow signs from the tunnel to the West Side Highway. Go north on the West Side Highway. Turn right onto W 42ND ST. Turn left onto 8TH Ave. Turn right onto W 44TH ST. Turn right onto Broadway / 7TH Ave. End at 1501 Broadway.

Take the 37 ST exit toward 38-40 STS. Turn left onto E 37TH ST. Turn right onto 3RD Ave. Turn left onto E 45TH ST. Turn left onto 7TH Ave. End at 1501 Broadway.

Take the F.D.R. Drive / Pearl ST. ramp. Keep right at the fork in the ramp. Merge onto FDR Dr N. Take the E 42 ST exit- EXIT 9. Turn slight right onto E 42ND ST. Turn right onto Avenue of the Americas / 6TH Ave. Turn left onto W 45TH ST. Turn left onto 7TH Ave. End at 1501 Broadway.

The Martha Graham Center’s 30,000-square-foot headquarters at 1501 Broadway features six professionally equipped rehearsal studios available for rental.

The studios accommodate a wide range of dance and performing arts activities, including rehearsals, classes, auditions, workshops, seminars, lectures, yoga and Pilates classes, and photo shoots.

All studios feature sprung Harlequin floors with Marley surfaces suitable for barefoot, pointe, and dance footwear compatible with Marley flooring, mirrors, barres, sound systems, pianos, climate-controlled HVAC, and ADA accessibility. Studio 1 also functions as a 150-seat black box theater with theatrical lighting and flexible seating.

A NYSCA Subsidized Rehearsal Space

Through support from the New York State Council on the Arts, the Martha Graham Center offers subsidized rehearsal space to eligible New York State choreographers, dance artists, and dance companies. Qualified applicants may reserve rehearsal studios at the NYSCA-subsidized rate of $10 per hour, subject to eligibility, studio availability, and NYSCA program requirements.
