BE A PART OF OUR NEW WORKS
The NEW@Graham Commissioning Circle is a custom membership tier for supporters who are passionate about the creation of new works at the Martha Graham Dance Company.
As we approach our 100th anniversary, members of the Commissioning Circle play a vital role in bringing new choreography to life, while enjoying exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the creative process from inception to premiere.
2025-26 COMMISSIONS
HOPE BOYKIN, LEONARD BERNSTEIN, CHRISTOPHER ROUNTREE
A new work by Hope Boykin, set to music by Leonard Bernstein, arranged by Christopher Rountree. The score includes a never-before-heard sketch discovered in historic correspondence between Bernstein and Martha Graham. This piece represents a “collaboration across time” between these two iconic artists.
JAMAR ROBERTS, LLOYD KNIGHT, THE CHURCH SAG HARBOR
A powerful new solo choreographed by Jamar Roberts for Lloyd Knight with a new score by Stahv Danker. A celebrated dancemaker and longtime Graham collaborator, Roberts’ solo is inspired by recently discovered archival footage. The work will be created during a residency at The Church in Sag Harbor.
TOMMIE WAHEED-EVANS, MARTHA GRAHAM x PHILADANCO!
We are collaborating with PHILADANCO! and ArtPhilly to create a new piece: in case of fire, speak, choreographed by Tommie Waheed-Evans. This piece will feature four Graham dancers and four from PHILADANCO! The work is inspired by Graham’s American Document, which premiered in 1938 in reaction to the rise of fascism in Europe.
