The Winter and Summer Intensives are specifically designed for students who are unable to attend the Martha Graham School year-round or who wish to progress rapidly in the Martha Graham Technique. The courses (three weeks in winter, six weeks in summer) offer dancers a rigorous program in Martha Graham Technique, Martha Graham Graham Repertory, and Dance Composition. The courses conclude with Studio Showings by Intensive Students.

Students may enroll for the entire program or for individual weeks, depending upon class requirements.

Classes

Technique

All students will be evaluated during the first two days of class to determine appropriate technique level.
- Elementary Technique: For students who wish to learn the basics of Graham Technique and accelerate rapidly.
- Intermediate Technique: For students with strong elementary background in Graham Technique who wish to increase facility.
- Advanced Technique: For students with extensive experience in Graham Technique who wish to deepen physical mastery.
Repertory Workshops
Composition (Please Note: Composition may be taken without technique or repertory.)

Studies in how to construct a dance. The first day of class will be placement evaluation by composition teacher.
