Martha Graham Archives

The Martha Graham Archives houses 76 years of archival assets: sets, costumes, audio and video recordings, photographs. The majority of these assets are located at an off-site location. Currently our collection is being inventoried and organized and, with rare exceptions, is not available to the general public. Our goal is to make these assets available for research of any sort in the near future. Until the Martha Graham Archives is open to the public, researchers and students may also find materials on Martha Graham at the Jerome Robbins Dance Collection at the New York Public Library of Performing Arts and at the Library of Congress.

Inquiries Regarding the Use of Photos, Films, Costumes, and Sets

Martha Graham Resources offers licensing of digital reproductions of photos and film/video for research purposes or for use in books, newspapers, magazines and journals, documentaries, exhibitions, web sites, catalogues, posters, brochures, and other uses. In addition, costumes and sets are available for reconstructions and exhibits.

How to Donate Historic or Archival Materials

Martha Graham Resources welcomes donations of historic and archival material related to Martha Graham; including such items as books, magazines, programs, correspondence, personal recollections, films, photographs, etc. Donations are tax deductible and donors may indicate how the items may be used or accessed for research.

How to Arrange an Interview

Interviews can be arranged for students and other researchers interested in interviewing dancers who worked directly with Martha Graham.
